Learn your way around Russian Solitaire
Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Russian Solitaire. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Begin with the solo mode shown on the page. Look at what changes after your first action.
Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.
One thing to notice as you play
When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Make the next step deliberately.
Your objective
Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Start with a deliberate move.
How a round unfolds
- Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
Getting comfortable with the controls
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.
Follow the example
A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Consider the next action carefully.
An important reminder
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
